Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the tutoring services provided by Orbium Tutoring (“we”, “our”, “us”).
1.2 By booking or attending lessons you (or the parent/guardian of the student) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not book lessons.

2. Services

2.1 We provide online and/or in-person tuition in subjects such as GCSE and A-Level Maths, Sciences, etc. Specific services and scope are described on our website.
2.2 All lessons are delivered by suitably qualified tutors; DBS/Police checks are completed for tutors who work with minors (where applicable).

3. Booking & Acceptance

3.1 Bookings may be made via email or phone. A booking is accepted when we issue a confirmation email.
3.2 Free or promotional offers (e.g. introductory hours) are subject to availability, one per household unless explicitly stated, and may have expiry dates.

4. Pricing & Payment

4.1 Fees are shown on the Pricing page and confirmed in your booking confirmation.
4.2 Payment methods accepted: bank transfer. Payments must be made in advance of scheduled lessons unless otherwise agreed.
4.3 For block bookings, the full amount is due on booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Missed Lessons

5.1 To cancel or reschedule, notify us at least 72 hours before the lesson. We will if possible re-schedule the lesson.
5.2 Cancellations made less than 72 hours before a session are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the lesson price.
5.3 If a tutor cancels, we will reschedule at no additional charge or offer a refund/credit.
5.4 Missed lessons without notice will not normally be refunded.

6. Trial/Promotional Lessons

6.1 Promotional lessons (e.g., free hours) are single-use per student unless stated and cannot be exchanged for cash.
6.2 Promotional offers require account/email verification and must be claimed within the specified period.

7. Conduct & Safeguarding

7.1 Parents/carers are responsible for their child’s welfare during online sessions. We follow safeguarding best practice and expect parents to supervise younger students.
7.2 If we suspect a safeguarding issue, we will follow our safeguarding policy, including contacting the appropriate authorities if necessary.
7.3 Tutors reserve the right to terminate a session if abusive or inappropriate behaviour occurs.

8. Student Progress & Results

8.1 We provide guidance, teaching and practice, but cannot guarantee specific grades. Progress depends on student effort and attendance.
8.2 Any testimonials are based on individual experience and not a promise of outcome.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 All teaching materials, worksheets, and resources provided by us remain our copyright (or licensed to us) and must not be redistributed without permission.
9.2 You may use resources for personal/educational use only.

10. Liability

10.1 We provide services with reasonable skill and care. Except where prohibited by law, our liability for negligence, breach of contract or tort is limited to direct losses up to the amount paid for the lesson(s) in question.
10.2 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost exam results, lost income).

11. Data Protection

11.1 Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal data. By using our services you consent to our processing of personal data as set out in the Policy.

12. Complaints

12.1 Please raise any issues by email. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and respond within 20 working days.
12.2 If unsatisfied, you may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) regarding data matters.

13. Termination

13.1 We may suspend or terminate services for non-payment, repeated cancellations, or breaches of these Terms.
13.2 You may terminate your agreement by giving [14] days’ written notice, subject to outstanding fees.

14. Changes to Terms

14.1 We may update these Terms and will publish the revised Terms on our website. Major changes will be notified by email where possible.

15. Governing Law

15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
